This drawing is about 60cm x 80 cm and it took some time to complete. The majority of that time was spent staring at it considering the direction it should take as I didn’t start out with a clear vision of the final piece. When I look at this work it reminds me of Gothic paintings of the Madonna and child. A cavity magnetron fires out a concentrated high energy beam of microwaves. It’s the thing that heats up your food in a microwave oven. I intended to capture the idea of this device in a visual form.
